Put Your Dreams into Action – I Did

Daily Word

“While change is inevitable, my response or reaction to change is up to me. How can I best prepare myself for change, and how can I make the most of it? Change is a transition from one thing, one place, one state of mind to another. I AM EVOLVING FROM WHAT WAS TO WHAT IS. I AM BECOMING MORE THAN I WAS BEFORE. Just as my view changed as I transitioned from childhood to adulthood, I now see that I am gaining a new perspective during this transition. I may be stepping into unfamiliar territory, but this step is an opportunity to grow in spiritual awareness. With each shift or change in my life, I am moving forward.”

While living in Maui for 6 months, I was open and willing to listen to the inner voice of the Divine guiding me to rest, to BE and to receive God’s unconditional love. As I have shared in other blogs, I was a “HUMAN DOING” and pushed and tried to make things happen. Today, because of “BEING” and letting go, I am experiencing a peace and serenity that l haven’t known to this depth before. It feels like I am in a “Bubble of Grace.” It is truly a miracle that I am not feeling afraid and obsessed with the sale of my house. I stay in peace and gratitude KNOWING God’s timing is perfect and the right and perfect buyer is here now. I may be tempted to travel down the “what if” highway, but I don’t allow myself because that will keep me stuck and in fear. I used to beg God for what I wanted; now I ask, am open to receive, and then say “thank you” and trust.

OMG I am returning to Maui to live in 2 weeks. I am living my dream and am very excited about stepping into the unknown and into God’s arms. The MASTER PLAN is in place and I am saying YES to receive more good in my life. As God helps me to usher out the old (scarcity thinking, stuff in my house, etc.), I am trusting God will be there to welcome me and usher in the new (new life new home, new friends, new church.)

What I have learned about this process is to be clear about what is my work and what is God’s. When I came back to Rhode Island on June 27, it was my intention to stay focused, clean out my house and get it ready to be sold. I also visualized that it would flow with peace, ease and grace. It truly has, and everything I needed was there when I needed it. For example, my friend Steve was going to paint my bedroom and den and I planned on buying the paint the next day. I knew there were lots of old cans of paint in the basement that I was planning to throw away, but I was happily surprised to find 2 gallons of old unopened paint!

I don’t know where they came from! And the best part was that it was the perfect and right color for the rooms. Of course, I was in deep gratitude for the miraculous paint that “showed up.”

My work in this process was to prepare my house to be sold to the best of my ability, to visualize, to trust, to ask for help, to stay positive and grateful. God’s part is the HOW it will unfold. I know God is working behind the scenes and has me covered. God knows more than I do what I need and when the house will sell. God knows the best place for me to live when I land in Maui. When I worry and obsess, I dishonor myself and the God within. It is a choice to trust and walk in faith. What helps me to trust is to remember what God has done for me in the past.

For example, I remember God’s word to me several years ago when I was at a very low point and experiencing debilitating fear. I was in the middle of writing my book and wanted to give up. In fact, I told God “I am not doing it; you have chosen the wrong person.” While at work one day, I opened a magazine and across the page was “I have a plan that will make all of your dreams come true.” I cut it out and still have it as a reminder of how I sobbed with joy when I read it because I knew God was speaking to me. The message gave me the courage and strength to finish my book. I shudder to think how fear almost robbed me of my dream. I am so grateful because I would not be where I am today and moving to Maui to live if I stayed stuck in the fear.

Not only has God “showed up” for me by giving me strength, courage, grace, faith, peace and serenity, but my family and friends have reached out to support and help me by painting rooms, cleaning windows, gardening, cleaning my basement, fixing my toilet and the list goes on and on. I am so GRATEFUL for the love I have experienced.

As I reflect on the past 2 years, I realized that my Hawaii adventure has also been a process. It may look like I spent 6 months in Maui from January to June and made a snap decision to move back there. Not so! Before I even went to Maui for the first time in November 2010 for 2 weeks, I had a psychic reading that I have never forgotten. She said, “Maui is going to be the nucleus of something big.” When I returned home after being in Maui for 2 weeks, I knew that something big had shifted inside of me. All I knew is that I didn’t want to do business the way I was doing it with all the marketing and networking and pushing. It was scary because I didn’t know what was going on and what God was preparing for me. After all, I needed to make money to support myself.

I “showed up” daily to pray and meditate and ask God for guidance and clarity about what my next step was. I had the opportunity to go back to Maui for a month in September 2011 and it was then that I heard God calling me back to Maui for 6 months. This really surprised me because I had never done anything like this and had to work through the “not deserving” voice to follow my heart and God’s calling. We have to be patient with the process of life and be willing to let go of control. Just like many of you, I use to want what I wanted when I wanted it and I kicked and screamed when I didn’t get my own way.

Today, I am learning a better way and that is to go with the flow, live in the present moment, trust that I have everything I need and that all is well. I have learned to trust my inner wisdom and trust God’s guidance in all things. I expect miracles and more good to come into my life. I am passionate about my life, especially when I use my life to inspire others to live their dream. I received this in prayer today.

Aine – Leap of Faith

Take a risk, and put your heart’s true desire into action. Procrastination about your dreams won’t make them go away. Neither will they make them happen. Indecision is the death of the soul’s burning passion to improve, grow and learn. Don’t worry about making a wrong decision. Instead, worry about making no decision at all. Then take time to pray, meditate, investigate, research and make your decision. Once made the universal energies will immediately open as if my magic. The magic, you see, is that you have set your mind to accomplish something. Trust that your intention is clear and right for you. And then take a leaf of faith and jump fully into putting your dreams into action.

I Finally Got It!

Posted Posted by admin in Blog (Weekly), Blogs     Comments No comments

I finally got it and I am so grateful! It will be seven weeks since I have been in paradise and it has been quite a ride! I have been sharing with you the struggles as well as the joys of being in Maui. I am happy to report, not only am I living in Paradise but I have found Paradise inside of me.

I had a major shift in my consciousness while in prayer this week. Deep within my soul, I knew the reason I was here was to receive God’s love. It seemed so simple and yet profound. I said, “God, do you mean I don’t have to do anything?” “Yes, I want you to experience my unconditional love without having to do anything. How will you be able to receive the love from your soul mate that I have planned for you if you are unable to experience my love completely and unconditionally?” Wow, I knew God was speaking to my heart. It’s been over two weeks since I received this message and I feel an incredible freedom to enjoy the present moment, to be in the flow of the Spirit and to trust each moment and experience to unfold perfectly. I am invited to play in God’s playground and enjoy every moment. This is a gift from God with no strings attached. I don’t have to do anything to earn it.

My daily intention is to stay peaceful, to love and to serve. Last Sunday my phone died suddenly. I went to the Verizon store and they were able to restore it to it’s original state, even though it meant losing all of my phone numbers, pictures and music. I felt grateful that it was restored and I went about my merry way of putting in the telephone numbers again (the ones that I had.) I was determined to stay peaceful, accept “what is” and not complain. Three days later the same thing happened – my phone died! I brought the phone back to the Verizon store, but unfortunately they weren’t able to restore it this time. I needed a new phone and it had to be shipped to me from the company. They promised they would FedEx it overnight. I still haven’t received it, but I’m still peaceful, which is a miracle and God’s Grace! I can’t wait to get my phone back and catch up with family and friends.

My friend Pat said, “Hmm…Pat Hastings is not connected to the world” when my phone died. I immediately thought to myself, “Yes, I am disconnected from the world but I am not disconnected from God” – which is the most important thing to me.

I took my daily walk to the Ritz this morning and felt totally connected to the God within. I remembered I am ONE with the Power and Source of my being and my life. As I felt the wind blowing through my hair, I raised my hands to the heavens and said, “Take me as high as you want me to go, God.” I felt peaceful, grateful, joyful, happy and loved. I realized that I was totally fine with being alone and in fact truly enjoying my own company. There was a time when I would never go to a restaurant alone because I worried people would think I didn’t have any friends. Boy, have I come a long way!!!!!

I am leaving for the Big Island on March 17th for two weeks to visit my friend Eileen from Rhone Island. While there, I will be leading a two hour workshop called “Vision is having Faith in Your Dreams” at the Aloha Center For Spiritual Living. I am very excited about this opportunity to share my faith story of transformation and how I manifested this trip to Maui for six months. As I reflected on my journey since November, 2010 (when I was first came to Maui for two weeks, in September 2011 for a month and now for six months) I realized how much “inner work” I had to do to change my thinking and then to step out in faith and actually move here. I had to be willing to let go of fear, scarcity thinking and not feeling deserving. To think, I am living in Maui when all I had was a social security check, a small pension and a whole lot of faith is truly amazing, even to me.

When you follow your heart, your dream, your vision and you say YES, the Universe takes over and makes a path for you. Never give up hope because it often takes time and perseverance for manifestation and lessons need to be learned. Remember, you are loved and don’t have to do anything to earn that love. There is always more life to live if you have the courage to step out and receive all that God has planned for you. You are worth it and you deserve it. You only have one life to live so live it to the fullest. I am living my dream and so can you. Faith is the answer: Faith in God and faith in yourself.

I have heard from many of you that my newsletters inspire and encourage you. I would love to hear about your journey and how you are living your faith and moving forward.

I am a magnet for love that draws more of itself to me. I am a mirror that reflects God’s love into the world.

A few months prior to my “Miracle Manifestation” trip to Maui, Hawaii in November, I contacted several of the churches to see if there was an interest in me giving a workshop/retreat while vacationing there. My friend Ellen, whom I was staying with in Hawaii also contacted some organizations, but to no avail. I was disappointed, but trusted it was a closed door and God had other plans.  My dream was put on hold.

Two days before I left for Hawaii, I received an email from my friend Deb Scott. She was very excited and said this woman CJ (from Maui, Hawaii) had an inspirational blog talk radio show called “From Maui with Aloha” and she wanted me to be a guest on her show while I was in Hawaii.  Of course I said yes! It wasn’t a workshop or retreat, but a radio show would do just fine!

After the radio show, we both felt like we wanted to get to know one another better. We met for tea a week later and talked for 3 hours non-stop.  We became fast friends and both knew it was no accident that we met. In our conversation, CJ told me she had just started writing a book about her life. I offered to be her weekly “Accountability Coach” which she immediately said yes to.  We have been in contact every week since then.  Interesting, but she has also become my weekly “Accountability Coach” for my new book.

When we talked last week, CJ mentioned that she is being led to lead retreats/workshops in Maui.  Of course, my ears perked up and my heart skipped a beat.  “I want to be a part of this” I blurted out.  She was thrilled because of my background and experience.  She had no idea that this was my dream.  I don’t know what or how it will happen because it’s in the infancy stage, but I have a feeling that my dream of doing a retreat in Hawaii will come true.  Cheryl also connected me with a woman who wants to lead workshops on cruises.  We are speaking this week.  It just gets better and better when we know we are all CONNECTED to the ONE POWER that is GOD.

I look forward to having CJ on my radio show “Finding the God of your understanding” on April 18th.

Conscious Detachment

Posted Posted by admin in Blogs, Helpful Articles     Comments No comments

Do you want peace in your life? Do you want to feel respected and loved? Learning Conscious Detachment can dramatically improve your relationships with your loved ones so they will also feel respected and loved.

What is Conscious Detachment? It’s emotionally separating from a person.  It’s the freedom to own what’s yours and allow other’s to own what’s theirs. When we detach, we let go of our obsession with another’s behavior and begin to lead happier and more manageable lives, lives with dignity and rights, lives guided by a power greater than ourselves.

There are behaviors that can give us clues that we need to detach which

include, but are not limited to; obsessing about another person, feeling like a victim, making excuses for another person, worrying, depression, not sleeping, overeating, blaming others, nagging, trying to manipulate, feeling out of control, feelings of urgency that we need to do something or fix someone, feeling guilty that it’s our fault.

Detachment is difficult because of our need to control. We may fear that if we let go of control, something bad will happen. Control is an illusion. We may not trust that the person we need to detach from will  make the right decision on their own and that they need our advice. People are often unaware that they have a need to control and are surprised when someone tells them that they are controlling.

Refusing to feel is a sign that we may be controlling. Controlling behavior requires denying, ignoring our own needs and feeling resentful when our needs are not met. When we try to control others and that includes adult children, we don’t give them choices and that’s not loving or respectful.

Examples of controlling behavior may be quiet anger, disapproval, being nice, silence, apologizing, guilt, reminders, suggestions, lectures, complaining, pouting, being hurt and refusing to ask for what we need.

It’s getting the focus off changing another person no matter how much we love them. We begin to focus on ourselves and what needs to be changed in us. This is where the power is. It’s getting the focus off the past – what we’ve done, not done, what someone has done to us or not done.

It’s not focusing on the future with all the “what if’s.” It’s allowing ourselves to feel our feelings, letting them go, being in the present moment and trusting in a power greater than ourselves.

Taken from Ivanla Vanzant’s book “Tapping the Power Within”

Detachment is:

  • We care, but don’t intrude.
  • We honor people and their process even if it looks dysfunctional to us.
  • We allow people to learn, grow and unfold at their own pace.
  • We trust and respect people enough to let them live their own lives.
  • We hold no expectation or judgements about what their process looks like or how long it will take.
  • We ask them what direction they are choosing for themselves.
  • We trust that divine order will guide them.
  • We remember how our learning, growing healing process must have looked to others and we offer compassion that we didn’t  receive.
  • We trust that people can make it on their own.

  • Get honest with our feelings
  • Talk to people we trust and understand us
  • Get in touch with Higher Power, ask for help and pray
  • Dump all anger and resentment

The first step in detaching with love is to begin taking responsibility for our own behavior.  This means that we can no longer blame our loved ones for the way we feel. No one makes us feel anything. It’s our reaction to the behavior that causes us pain, anger, resentment and disappointment. We lose ourselves when we become so involved in another’s behavior. Regaining our self-respect and self-esteem is a big benefit of detaching with love.
The next step in detaching with love is acceptance. Acceptance is the
key. Acceptance doesn’t mean that we necessarily feel ok about
current or past situations. It means that we stop trying to change
what we have no power over.  Acceptance brings PEACE. Acceptance
is letting go of control and accepting what is.
